讲座摘要：The introduction of the printing press in England in 1476 had profound consequences for the production, circulation, and consumption of literary works during the late medieval period. My lecture will focus on the genre of chivalric romance, which was popular during the manuscript period, and will explore the ways in which this new technology of textual transmission affected the reception of this literary genre in the period immediately following the advent of the printing press until ca. 1535.
