内容简介:

The aim of my lecture today is to amplify some of the reasons why Jane Austen is so popular worldwide and why she should be read. I shall begin with a short account of her life stressing its relevance to us all. Then I shall refresh your memories or introduce you perhaps for the first time to some of the works, indicating their main concerns, and then examine why she is such a great writer.
